Hanover, New Hampshire, may be the 29th US city to agree to a goal of purchasing 100% of its energy from renewable sources.
Adding in green heat and travel by 2050, and pledging to perform on 100% renewable energy by 2030, this latest determination is indicative of a trend towards a low-carbon future for that US, which can be here to stay.
Hanover will be the first city in New Hampshire to determine such a target. Their state is coming along in its solar installations, with 53.7MW of potential installed to date. Hanover currently uses 22% renewable energy.
“I am thrilled the community meeting voted unanimously to support an objective of 100% renewable energy,” stated Hanover area manager Julia Griffin. “We anticipate dealing with Ecological Hanover and Sierra Club to achieve this goal.”
Unlike another 28 US cities and villages which have committed to 100% clean energy, Hanover presents the initial town in the united kingdom to really have a purpose of 100% renewable energy voted on and authorized by the citizens of the neighborhood, based on the Sierra Club.
“I enjoy supporting next steps within Hanover and assisting to spread this campaign throughout the Upper Valley.” to your neighbours
